Warner Bros. Discovery has acquired the international rights to “Sinister: The Epstein Files” for HBO Max

Warner Bros. Discovery has acquired the international* distribution rights for “Sinister: The Epstein Files” for HBO Max. International distribution of the documentary will begin on September 3, 2026, coinciding with its premiere in Bulgaria. The deal reinforces HBO Max’s commitment to high-quality documentary content that tells stories of significant public interest.

Produced and distributed by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, “Sinister: The Epstein Files” traces the rise, actions, network, and eventual downfall of Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender accused of running a long-standing sexual abuse and human trafficking ring that exploited underage girls for years. The film also examines alleged missed opportunities and institutional failures within law enforcement, the legal system, and social services that allowed his criminal activity to continue largely unchecked for years.

Featuring unprecedented access to first-hand accounts from investigators, legal experts, journalists, and others directly connected to the Epstein case, including survivors Lisa Phillips and Ashley Rubright, his brother Mark Epstein, and attorney David Schoen, the 90-minute documentary reveals the far-reaching consequences of Epstein’s crimes. 

The film is produced by Jennifer Feller of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, with Caitlin Shea serving as executive producer.

“Sinister: The Epstein Files” premieres locally on September 3 on the streaming platform HBO Max.
